Privacy Policy

The Janks Binder ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are.

1. Who we are

The Janks Binder is operated by Davin Chee ("the Operator"), based in Singapore. For any privacy-related question or request, contact our Data Protection Officer at:

2. What personal data we collect

When you place an order, we collect:

• Name
• Contact number
• Email address
• Delivery address (only if you choose shipping rather than self-collection)
• Order notes you choose to provide
• Your chosen payment method (PayNow or card)

If you pay by card, Stripe collects your card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. If you pay by PayNow, we see the bank reference details needed to match your payment to your order.

If you sign up for our mailing list, we collect your email address (and name, if provided) for that purpose separately from any order.

We also automatically collect limited technical data (such as a live "browsing now" count) needed to operate the Site, which does not identify you personally.

3. Why we collect it

We use your personal data to:

• Process and fulfil your order (confirming stock, arranging delivery or self-collection, processing payment)
• Contact you about your order (confirmations, delays, stock issues, delivery coordination)
• Send you marketing emails about new stock, restocks, or promotions — only if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or by contacting us directly
• Maintain our own order records and prevent fraud
• Improve the Site

We do not use your personal data for any purpose beyond what's listed above without asking for your consent first.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data with the minimum third parties needed to run the business:

• Stripe — to process card payments. Stripe processes your card details directly under its own privacy policy.
• Our internal order management system (a private, access-controlled Google Sheet) — used to track and fulfil orders. This is not publicly accessible.
• Delivery/courier partners — your name, address, and contact number, only if you choose shipping, and only to the extent needed to deliver your parcel.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. How long we keep it

We keep order-related personal data for as long as needed to fulfil the order, handle any disputes or refund claims, and meet our accounting/record-keeping obligations, after which we delete or anonymise it. If you're on our mailing list, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses a small number of essential cookies/local storage, for example to keep the admin dashboard logged in and to power the "N people browsing" indicator. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your rights under the PDPA

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications or, where consent is the basis for other processing, for that processing (which may affect our ability to fulfil an order in progress)

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and administrative steps to protect the personal data we hold, including restricting access to our order records to the Operator only, and relying on Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure for card payments. No online system is 100% secure, but we do not store full card numbers ourselves, which limits our exposure.

9. Children's data

Our Site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone we know to be under 18 without evidence of parental consent obtained at checkout (see our Terms of Service).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
